Join us for the launch of The Tonic Review issue 3, a literary magazine written for students, by students! There will be an open mic alongside readings from contributors. This event is a collaboration with Crow Calls.

About The Tonic Review:

The Tonic Review is a literary magazine that was started in October of 2024 at Cardiff University. Since then, they have been growing rapidly and are now open to submissions not just from Cardiff University Students, but all students of further education in Wales. They are a member of the Student Publication Association and were awarded Highly Commended Best Newcomer Publication at the SPA National Conference 2025. They are dedicated to creating space for Welsh students’ writing in all its forms, from translation to odes about the Valleys. About Crow Calls:

Crow Calls began in March 2025 as a space for BA Cardiff University students to get comfortable sharing their creative works to a live audience (although anyone is welcome to get involved!). We aim to host an open mic event roughly once a month and are always happy to see new faces! Since we started, Crow Calls has blossomed into a lovely small community. Whether it’s a sunny day in Bute Park or we’re sheltering from the rain in the winter, we always love to hear everyone’s pieces. Find them on instagram @thecrowcalls_ 

Our refund policy:

If you can't make the event anymore after you've booked do let us know. If you tell us 24 or more hours before the event we will be able to refund your ticket price minus the processing fee that Shopify charges us for the original transaction.
