About the books:

Wendy Allen's Portrait in Mustard celebrates sex and pleasure, whilst registering the risks of intimacy for straight women in a world where men's pleasure often comes first. Via the unabashed tones of mustard yellow and metaphors of fruit and art, Allen's poems create a manifesto for women's independence, autonomy and joy.

Taz Rahman's East of the Sun, West of the Moon follows a wanderer in the city who contemplates legacies of grief, intricacies of nature, improvisations of jazz, and the contingencies of language as a structure through which we seek to know the world.

About the authors:

Wendy Allen's pamphlet Portrait in Mustard, was published by Seren in 2024. She has also published Plastic Tubed Little Bird with Broken Sleep, and has collaborated with Charley Barnes (freebleeding, Broken Sleep, 2024) and i get lost everywhere, you know this now and Art Sundays with Galia Admoni (Salo Press, 2023/4). 
She is a PhD researcher at Manchester Writing School. 

Taz Rahman’s debut poetry collection ‘East of the Sun, West of the Moon’ published by Seren Books was longlisted for the 2024 Laurel Prize. He was shortlisted for the Royal Society of Literature’s 2024 Jerwood Poetry Prize and the 2022 Aesthetica Creative Writing Award. He is the founder of Wales’ first Youtube poetry channel Just Another Poet.
